What better way to experience dance than travel?  Every second year Miss Talia and Miss Sonja arrange for dancers and their families to travel abroad and experience dance in another part of the world.  This oppourtunity is open to any Essence Families interested in participating!  In previous years dancers have performed on Cruise ships travelling to Mexico, Jamaica and the Cayman Islands, taken classes at the Cuban National Ballet School in Havana and performed at an All Inclusive Resort in Varadero, Cuba.  The dancers have also taken classes at the Hawaii State Ballet School in Honolulu, The Edge Performing Arts Centre in Hollywood, The Martha Graham Studio of Contemporary Dance in New York City, The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre in New York City and Broadway Dance Centre in New York City.  The Essence dancers were able to work with Broadway's Lion King cast members, Broadway's Matilda cast members and the Rockettes all in New York City.  One of our dancers' favorite trips included taking classes with some of Disney's top choreographers then performing in Disneyland's Magic Kingdom! 

 

Miss Talia and Miss Sonja feel that it is important for dancers to be well rounded and love giving their dancers unique experiences that they may not otherwise be able to acheive.
